How do you prevent the buddy list from showing automatically on AIM?
Q. When i start up my computer the buddy list shows up and signs me on and im trying to prevent others getting on my account. so please heelp?

A. Ok so first, open your buddy list. Then on the top, click edit then settings. Go to the sign on/sign out tab and uncheck open AIM when Windows Starts. ~~~ And while you're at it, if the Welcome Screen is bubbled, change it to none.

How do you close the aim Buddy List without signing out?
Q. I recently upgraded to Windows 7, and now, when I try to close the buddy list, it just minimizes. This is annoying, because I have to click the aim icon, then the chat window to get back to a conversation. If I try to exit aim, then it just signs me out. Please help.

How do people get on your buddy list on AIM?
Q. I'm referring to when exactly does a person stay on your buddy list. Cause i was looking over my list today, and i found names of people i never knew or even talked to. How do they get on the list? Is it after you accept their message or reply? Or is it through another means, because, as I've said before, i never even replied to some of the people's im's and they're on my list somehow.

A. I think the newer version of AIM saves peoples S/N's that you've gotten messages from in a new tab. That's why I switched back to the old version of AIM. There might be a setting in the preferences that can stop that.

How do you delete an AIM Blast Group from your buddy list?
Q. This is driving me crazy, i looked it up, and someone told me how to: 1) Sign in your aim. 2) On your buddy list, your aim blast group should be listed. 3) Right click on the title of the blast group name and select edit. 4) This will open up your browser. Find the button that says "Owner Controls" and select delete group. but i couldn't figure out where #4 was located. Can someone please help me delete these stupid groups?

What does it mean on aim when someone on your buddy list has an away message but the sn is gray and slanted?
Q. Ok, u know lke when 1 of ur buddies is signed off, their sn is on ur buddy list as ffline and their sn is gray and italicized? Weel what does it mean if someone's screen name is italicized and gray, but they have an away message and they're listed under a regular group, like friends?

A. it probably means that they had put on an away message before, but now they're idle. Idle means that they haven't moved their mouse or keyboard for an amount of time (20 -30 minutes, depending on your settings)

can you recopy your buddy list from one screenname to another?
Q. i just made a new screenname but i have alooot of buddies on my old one. is there a way to copy the whole buddy list from one to another instead of manually readding one by one? if there is can you please explain it? thanks!

A. Have you tried importing your other list using the Import Contacts on the Contacts drop down? I would try that first. If that does not work, do you have another IM account such as Microsoft Live? You could import into that and then import back to the Yahoo! Messenger account. Hope this helps.

Q. I have sprint, but I have the SCP-2400, so i think its time for a new phone. But anyway, i've been looking into the LG Rumor and the Samsung UpStage. However, on my phone, when I sign on to AIM through Sprint, i only get to see 30 people from my buddy list. So, for anyone who has the Rumor, do you get to see your full buddy list, with all of your groups and everything?

Why does it say all phone numbers are offline on my AIM buddy list?
Q. I just created a new screen name, and after i did that it says all phone numbers are offline. Whenever i try to send an IM to a phone number it just says it is unavailable. Does anyone know how to fix this, or why this may have happened? Highlight and a side menu will appear that will allow you to move & copy names from one group to another or create a new group. Once you've selected a friends name, click ok and choose the group you'd like the name to be in.

A. Yes you certainly CAN remove your name of someone else's buddy list. There are many programs out there...Just to name a few: Denied Access, DownAddRemove XDenyBuddy BudAddRemove ...etc They all programs from sites you need to make sure you scan them first!!!
